Porto is the second biggest city of Portugal. It is the capital city of the Northen region. An ancient city where a modern lifestyle and a visually pleasant mix of Architectural styles are warmed up by the sweet tradition of Porto wine and refreshed by the relaxing breeze of Douro river. But, what really matters in Porto, as you will know once you aknowledge all it has to offer, is its people. By day or by night, locals and tourists give the city a unique atmosphere, that you will surely enjoy!
Getting to and from center town
Coming from abroad, the easiest way to arrive is by plane. Do keep in mind that the most relevant European low cost airlines are flying to Porto, connecting it with several countries and regions. Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (aka Porto International Airport, code OPO) is located aproximately 16km from center town. Right in front of Arrivals' terminal you find the usually Taxi offers as well as a cheaper way, the Metro.
Metro station at the Airport has only one line (one way) leading you directly into Casa da Música, or Trindade, just to name two of the most iconic and central stations. At Trindade you will be at a walking distance of downtown but you may as well change the line and get out at Aliados or S. Bento (Train Station and a Monument).
Metro may lead you as well to Campanhã Train Station, from where you can depart to meet other places in Portugal, or where maybe you have just arrived to our city! Please find the train connections here.
Once you join us for the Training course and, as a side effect, once you get addicted to Porto, you will surely find other reasons to keep coming back. You may then want to explore more and more, namely, the new Cruises Terminal of Matosinhos.
